LAS VEGAS legend Buddy Greco who’s headlined on the Strip since the 50s and who spent the 60s based at the famous Sands Hotel with the Rat Pack - Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Joey Bishop, and Peter Lawford, is tearing himself away from the glamour and glitz of Vegas and will be at the Elgiva in Chesham next Saturday.
He started his career as a pianist and vocalist for the great Benny Goodman and went on to become one of America’s most popular entertainers. He has the rare distinction of being asked by Frank Sinatra to record for his own record label Reprise and was also the only American chosen to perform at The Royal Command Performance with the Beatles in 1963.
Grammy and Emmy Awards along with hit records such as The Lady Is A Tramp, Around The World and Girl Talk propelled Buddy to legendary status. Today he is recognised as a major influence on the careers of the likes of Harry Connick Jnr and Michael Buble.
He’s recorded 70 albums including a live album with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.
In this swinging show Buddy will not only perform his hits but he will also regale the audience with memories of his days with The Rat Pack, Marilyn Monroe and many other showbiz greats. He’ll be joined on stage by The Buddy Greco Trio and the sensational Lezlie Anders performing songs from her acclaimed Broadway salute to Peggy Lee, Fever.
Buddy Greco will be at the Elgiva, Chesham on Saturday, January 29, 7.45pm.
