You can leave your hat on! Tring Festival company dares to bare with The Full Monty

The origins of the phrase may be disputed by word wranglers worldwide, but everyone knows that The Full Monty means these days – it’s all about getting your kit off for the ladies.

But how much they will dare to bare when the musical version of the hit film about Sheffield scrapheap survivors stripping off to make ends meet remains to be seen.

For the stage show, the action is switched from Sheffield to Buffalo, an American steel town similarly sideswiped by the changing world economy.

Directed by George Riddell, a veteran of acting and directing alike, the show features some familiar Court Theatre faces as well as a sprinkling of new names.

Members of the cast hail from as far afield as Aylesbury, Dunstable, Luton and Maidenhead as well as many locals from Tring.

There are also members of Tring community choir The Local Vocals in the main cast and ensemble.

George said: “A largely inexperienced cast has grabbed the bull by the horns and are producing professional standard results during rehearsals. I can’t wait to see them on stage.”

The production team are promising to knock your socks off – but any other items of clothing to be discarded are best left to the cast. The show runs from next Tuesday to Saturday, visit for box office details.
