TOWNSPEOPLE have been snapping up tickets to the first major castle event in years.
The Berkhamsted venue will be transformed into an open-air theatre for the performance of the Pirates of Penzance by production company Illyria on Saturday, September 3.
Berkhamsted Town Council organisers have flogged 80 tickets to the show already, and they’ve only been on sale for about two weeks.
They hope to sell at least 200 by the big day, and people can now get them from The Berkeley Gallery in the town’s Lower Kings Road as well as the website www.illyria.uk.com.
Councillor David Collins said: “We’ve organised the castle event a lot of people have been asking for.
“It will enable us to re-establish the castle as a venue for top events.”
