PREPARE to be swept away on a whirlwind ride through one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time when song and dance spectacular An Evening of Dirty Dancing arrives at the Elgiva Theatre in Chesham this Friday.

It’s the original box office smash hit tribute starring Matthew Goodgame, who was the winner of the Channel 4 series Musicality, and West End leading lady and Coronation Street actress Rachael Wooding, along with a dynamic cast of other performers, and it has been wowing audiences all over the UK since 2010.

> Berkhamsted Jazz Club presents the Laurie Chescoe Reunion band this Saturday at the Civic Centre, from 8pm.

Laurie started his career in 1957 playing with the Teddy Layton band and from then on played with numerous groups, including Monty Sunshine, Bruce Turner’s Jump Band, and Dick Charlesworth, and was a founder member of the Midnite Follies Orchestra.

He’s toured with American stars such as Buddy Tate, Al Casey and Ruby Braff and today runs his own band.
