How to you dramatise George Orwell’s cautionary fable Animal Farm with nothing more than a wooden box or a bale of hay to help you?
It sounds like a tall order but it doesn’t worry Guy Masterson, who brings his one-man production to Hemel Hempstead’s Old Town Hall for two performances next week.
Since he first created the show in 1995 he has toured it all over the globe, and it’s now officially the most-performed solo production in the world.
Over two hours of physical storytelling he creates the entire farmyard, from the upwardly mobile pigs Snowball and Napoleon to the stolid horse Boxer, exploited by his new masters.
There are performances next Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27, and tickets are £12 with concessions on offer at £10 and a £6.50 deal for Dacorum Card holders.
