An expanse of Alan as OTH returns from break

Hemel Hempstead’s Old Town Hall has been dark for a month, but now it’s back in business with a spring programme kicking off next week.

First up for comedy fans is a show from Alan Francis, a familiar face on the circuit recently spotted in the new Alan Patridge outings on TV.

Alan’s an award-winner from north of the border who has worked with Alistair McGowan and other big names, but never quite made the breakthrough to the big time himself.

But is he bitter? Well, yes, since you asked. However, he is also very funny – disappointed and despairing maybe, but his Alan Francis Expands set is droll squared as well.

He’s at the OTH on Saturday, February 9. Tickets are £9, £7 concessions, from 01442 228091
