She’s a little lady with a big, big voice – and you can check out her talents at Aylesbury’s Limelight Theatre later this month.
She’s Cherry Lee Mewis, and she’ll be powering up her pipes and belting out blues-based blockbusters at the venue on Friday, April 19.
She’s backed by a tight band including long time collaborator and guitarist Max Milligan – they’ve just put together a third studio album, Heard It Here First.
All 11 tracks have been written by Welsh-born Cherry, who is now based in Bedford, and the new release builds on the foundations laid in 2007’s Little Girl Blue and 2009 follow-up Southbound Train.
Cherry served her apprenticeship endlessly gigging in clubs and bars in her home town from the age of 11, developing not only her powerful soulful voice, but her performance and style, too.
Tickets are £10, £8 concessions, and you can book yours by calling the box office on 01296 431 272 or visiting the website at www.qpc.org
