St Giles Church in Cheddington welcome back the popular Manor House String Quartet on Friday for their annual Christmas concert.

This year, the concert is entitled To Drive The Cold Winter Away, named after one of the carols on the quartet’s second album of unique carol arrangements which have received critical acclaim and become a regular part of the December playlist on many classical radio stations around the world, including Classic FM in the UK

The concert will be light and entertaining in nature, with the group performing a selection of well known festive pieces such as In Dulci Jubilo, The First Nowell, The Skaters’ Waltz, the Sussex Carol and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto no. 3.

Tickets are £10 (adults) or £7 (concessions) and are available from Stewart Miles on 01296 660427 or 07773 786864, and on the door if remaining. Doors open at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start.

Ticket price includes a glass of mulled wine (or soft drink) and mince pie. There will be a chance to buy copies of both the Quartet’s Christmas albums. Proceeds from the concert will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of St Giles Church.
