Hoffman hit is Grapevine’s first film for Sarratt season


Why travel all the way to a multiplex for an enjoyable evening of cinema if there’s a screening available at the village hall?

The new season of Grapevine film shows at Sarratt Village Hall gets under way next Friday, October 11, and everyone is welcome.

Take your seats from 7.30pm for an 8pm screening of Quartet, the gentle drama about retired opera singers still battling for top billing in their twilight home.

The top notch cast includes Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins and Tom Courtenay and the film was directed by Dustin Hoffman – his first official credit as a director in a career stretching back more than 40 years.

There’s also an afternoon film for children – Epic will begin at 5pm.

Hot dogs, free popcorn and a bar for adults are all provided.

Tickets for both films are available on the door, by suggested donation of £5 for adults £3 for children, under twos free.
