Fullerians 14-19 Camelot

HEMEL Hempstead Camelot battled their way to a 14-19 win at Fullarians.

Camelot scored the first points of the game as Hadyn Morgan stormed into the opposition half and broke through the defence to touch down.

And the visitors extended their advantage shortly before half-time as Richard Woodard chased down a chip, stole possession and sprinted across the line to score and convert the try.

Fullarians fought back in the second half, though, and narrowed the deficit with a converted try of their own.

At 12-7 up with five minutes to go, Camelot could have been forgiven for sitting back and trying to protect their lead – but they had other ideas.

Number six George Adams received an inside pass and broke through the defence, before crashing across the line.

Fullarians hit back shortly before the final whistle, but it was too little too late and Hemel held on for the win.

Meanwhile, Camelot’s second, third and fourth teams were also in action.

The second XI beat Tring fourths 76-5, the thirds beat Old Ashmolean II 32-0, and the fourths lost 17-5 against Chesham III.
