A fully inclusive triathlon club is set to be launched at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in a bid to encourage a new generation of budding triathletes.

Stoke Mandeville Tri Club, which is affiliated to British Triathlon, will be using the stadium’s facilities including the pool, track and spinning area for coached sessions and the surrounding countryside for endurance sessions.

The club’s aim is to be fully inclusive to all abilities, ranging from novices to established triathletes, looking to improve their personal bests.

As part of the partnership, SMTri members will be able to take advantage of the club’s practical activities along with additional services including lectures, member discussion forums and nutritional support classes.

Ian Seabrook, contract manager at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, said: “We are very excited to work with SMTri.

“Triathlons are a very popular sporting event and with our facilities and expertise I am confident we can make a new generation of budding triathletes in Aylesbury Vale.”

SMTri coach David Brown added: “It is great news to be able to team up with Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the facilities are first class and I am confident we will build a strong partnership.

“I am passionate about coaching people because I gain great pleasure in seeing people achieve their results regardless of their starting point.”
