Hemel Stags are chomping at the bit with the recent heavy rain having put their pre-season schedule on hold.

Their clash with North Wales Crusaders fell foul of the weather, and head coach Troy Perkins said:“It’s unfortunate but there was nothing anybody could do about it.”

Stags need a game against a strong team under their belts before the season starts, so Perkins has asked a favour of London Broncos coach Tony Rea.

“We were originally planning to play a Broncos U19 side but I have spoken to Tony and asked him if he could include as many first team players as possible,” said Perkins.

“He has very kindly agreed to do that.

“We are really grateful because it means I can test our squad against top quality opposition.”

The game kicks off at 1pm at Pennine Way on Saturday.

Entrance is £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and free for children.
