CROSS COUNTRY: Dacorum and Tring Athletics club sent a good squad to Cassiobury for the latest Division Two cross country meet.
A team of 15 men from the club turned out to run over the demanding and hilly course.
Matt Salt put in another outstanding finish to come first, and he was followed home by team-mate Andy Cracknell in second, just 29 seconds behind.
Jack Parslow was the next to finish for Tring, in sixth place, ahead of Oliver Glyn in 19th, Alex Gardner in 28th, and Jamie Marlow in 35th.
Antony Allen was 92nd, Ken Peryy 93rd, Martin Arnold 96th, John Slack 106th, John Cooper 109th, David Walker 110th, Fabian Mills 113th and Malcolm Sargent 114th.
Due to injuries and sickness, meanwhile, a depleted ladies’ team could only send out five runners, but Clare Murrey led them home in 29th.
Laura Merchant followed her back in 40th, ahead of Rupimder Mahil in 41st, Hilary Needleman in 44th and Joanne Baxter in 49th.
