The Little Hay Golf Club seniors held their 36-hole annual championship last week to find the Seniors’ 2015 Champion – the player with the lowest gross score over two rounds of play.

After the first round – played in miserable rainy weather – Mick Milne held the lead with a score of 79, with Jim Lochhead in second place with 83 and Tony Mayhew third with 84.

Milne went on to win, posting an 81 in the second round for a total of 160, while Lochhead just retained his second place, posting an 84 for a total of 167. Mayhew had to settle for third with a two-round total of 168, posting another 84 in the second round.

Alongside the gross tournament, a nett competition was played to find the winners of the Seniors’ Cup (Older) and Seniors’ Cup (Younger).

Mayhew won the Seniors’ Cup (Older) with a two-round total of nett 142, just ahead of Milne with a nett 144 and Dennis Warren in third with nett 146.

The Seniors’ Cup (Older) was won by Vic Allen with a nett 142, pipping runner-up Michael Clark (nett 146) and Jim Littlechild in third (nett 147).
