Hemel Stags have announced their club and team captains, with the beginning of their inaugural Championship season just a few weeks away.
Joel Miranda has been chosen as team captain and will lead the team on the field, while BJ Swindells will be taking charge off the field as the club captain.
Stags coach Troy Perkins said: “It was a hard decision as there were several players that would have done a good job.
“I decided on Joel as he’s impressed me in pre-season with his attitude at training, he leads by example in everything he does and is a very positive person.
“As a hooker he will be around the action most of the time so will be able to make decisions throughout the game pretty quickly.”
Swindells, meanwhile, has been at the club for more than a decade, and Perkins said: “I felt that BJ Swindells deserved a leadership role as well, so we have appointed him club captain.
“BJ is our longest-serving player, having been in our first team for over ten years.
“On the field he is a vital member of our team and leads by example in everything he does.
“Everyone at the club and most people in the town knows BJ so he will be the one that will represent the club off the field, as well as supporting Joel on the field.”
