Hatch End Hawks are encouraging people to lace up their trainers and give lacrosse a try at a free taster session in Little Gaddesden on Thursday.
The Cow Roast-based Hawks have recently been awarded High Performance Club status – which gives them the opportunity to encourage new players to get involved; especially those who haven’t picked up a lacrosse stick in years, if ever at all.
The mixed taster session will take place on Little Gaddesden Playing Fields in Church Road, from 12.15 to 1.15pm. All adults in trainers are welcome, and equipment will be provided.
“Lacrosse is a really great sport – it’s fast and competitive, but lots of fun,” said Hawks’ veteran goalkeeper and Little Gaddesden resident Briony Sutcliffe.
“It really doesn’t matter if people have never played before, or not since they were in school uniform.
“Hatch End Hawks has a friendly and active veterans’ section, and the only way that people will find out if it’s a sport for them is by coming and having a go!”
Details of the Taster Session are available from firstname.lastname@example.org
Pupils from Little Gaddesden Primary School will also be treated to a free mini-lacrosse taster session organised by the Hawks.
