Camelot 27-20 Tabard
Three tries from Ross Willoughby secured a morale-boosting 27-20 win for Camelot over Tabard at Chaulden Lane on Saturday.
The hosts took the lead within two minutes when Hadyn Morgan touched down before Tabard levelled.
Camelot regained the lead on 34 minutes when the ball was recycled out from a ruck for Liam Meddeman to score a try.
The visitors continued to press and eventually broke the defence out wide to score a try in the corner and level the score at 10-10 just before half time.
Seven minutes after the interval Tabard breached the defence to score a converted effort and take the lead for the first time in the match.
Camelot battled back once again, though, with Willoughby sprinting round the defence to score.
Tabard kicked over a penalty to extend their advantage but Camelot slowly gained the upper hand and Willoughby stormed through to score a try under the posts.
And there was still time for Willoughby to complete his hat-trick and seal Camelot’s first win over Tabard in over 20 years.
Next up for Camelot is a trip to Harpenden this weekend.
Elsewhere, Camelot II beat Letchworth thirds 31-17 and the third XI saw off Hertford VI 31-5.
