Max Whitlock has the chance to add a World Championship medal to his already impressive collection as he takes to the arena for the all-round men’s artistic gymnastics final in Antwerp tomorrow.
Max’s has been touted as Britain’s top medal hope at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championship after a solid performance in qualifying earlier this week.
Double Olympic medallist Max has qualified for the all-around finals, as well as the final of the pommel horse – his specialist apparatus.
His all-around total of 86.941 handed him tenth place overall, while his score of 15.408 on the pommel gives him a solid foundation going into the finals later this week.
Max, from Adeyfield, said after hearing of his qualification: “I made a few little mistakes but overall it was a pretty good start for me and hopefully I can build on that during the championships.”
