Ralph and Haydn bag a medal haul
Eleven-year-old twins Ralph and Haydn Williams have returned home with yet more medals after a busy few days of competition.
A long and successful weekend started at Cambridge on Saturday for the Eastern Counties Championships, with seven counties battling it out.
In the sprint hurdles race, Ralph took the silver medal with Haydn taking bronze – just 0.5 seconds behind.
Later in the day, both boys made the final six competitors in the long jump competition. After his final jump, Ralph was in third position until Haydn took his last leap and took the bronze medal by just 2cm.
On Sunday, at the InterCounties meeting at Kingston, Haydn was proud to wear his Hertfordshire vest and took third place in his string of the 75m Hurdles – just 0.1 seconds off his PB.
Haydn also competed in the 800m race in the afternoon, with Ralph running a PB in the 100m.
Monday ended with grading at Bury Judo Club, with both boys fighting fellow club members of up to twice their weight to earn a Green Belt which was the highest level they could have achieved.
