The Dacorum & Tring AC Road Runners were out in full force at the 2013 Waddesdon 5km road race, bringing home a set of excellent results.
Tackling the hilly run through the grounds of Waddesdon Manor, Matthew Salt was the second male overall in a time of 16 minutes and 6 seconds – eight seconds faster than his winning time of 2012.
Jamie Marlow was second over the line for the club to claim 15th place overall, while John Hopper rounded off the top three.
Catherine Davies was first D&T lady across the line in 21:52, giving her third place in the V45 women’s age group, while Louise Hopper won the V40 women’s category.
The 5km race just a warm-up for Marlow, who followed the Waddesdon outing with the Fairlands Valley Challenge 50km ultra-run four days later – finishing in the top-10 in a time of 5 hours and 1 minute.
On the track last weekend, Dacorum & Tring AC prodigy Chenna Okoh helped the club’s youngsters to a third-placed finish in the Eastern Young Athletes League match at Braintree in Essex.
Okoh won gold medals in the U15 boys’ 100m, 200m and 300m – setting new personal bests in the 100m and 200m.
He also anchored the U15 boys’ 4x100m relay team to a winning time of 48:2s – a new club record.
Other gold medals went to Pia Davis, Amber Carroll, Zoe Williams, Alissa Bamford, Pam Baxter, Caitlin Filby, Tom Wright, Thomas Milton, James Weller, Josh Brown and Tim Ashby.
