Hemel Stags have confirmed the signing of Jymel Coleman from Dewsbury Rams.

Jymel is the brother of Stags assistant coach Jermaine Coleman, and played 10 games for the Yorkshire Championship outfit last season, scoring five tries. He also had a short spell on loan with the Stags.

Coach Troy Perkins said “Jymel is a great signing for us. He has played in the Championship for a few years and he has proven himself at this level.

“He is versatile, he can play in the halves, hooker or loose forward although initially we will look to to play him in the halves.

“He plays with plenty of enthusiasm, is a good organiser, has a good kicking game and he likes to take the line on, too.”

“He was the ultimate professional when he was with us last season and played an important part when we defeated Grand Final winners Rochdale Hornets, and his experience and enthusiasm rubbed off on the other players.”
