The Hemel Hempstead Camelot U11s finished the season in style by winning the Plate competition at the prestigious Aylesbury Festival.

The Camelot side finished second in their pool of six teams, winning four matches without conceding a single try, while scoring 19 themselves in the process; just losing the one match against a very strong Beaconsfield side.

This earned them a place in the Plate final where they faced one of the most physical encounters of the season, against Marlow.

A bruising contest saw both sides give their all with some strong tackling and mauling - neither side looking to give anything away.

In the end it was Camelot who twice broke free to score, winning the final 2-0 and deservedly finishing the season with medals and silverware.

Meanwhile the B team finished third in their pool after victories over Aylesbury and Milton Keynes, earning them a place in the Bowl final.

They then met an Amersham & Chiltern team that dominated from start to finish, but the inexperienced Camelot squad can hold their heads high after some solid performances over the course of the day.

The Camelot U11 team is always on the lookout for new recruits, with training on most Friday evenings and training or matches on a Sunday morning.
