BERKHAMSTED I picked up a convincing 2-0 win in their clash with Rickmansworth.

Berko started well and had plenty of chances but could not convert and it looked as though the first half would end goalless.

But just before half-time Berko were awarded a short corner, from which man of the match James Barron picked up the ball and moved around the D before smashing home to put his side 1-0 up.

The second half followed the same pattern as the first, with Berko rarely troubled in defence, but unable to find the killer second goal.

However, 10 minutes before the end of the game, Berko won another short corner and Pete Allam stepped up to flick the ball into the top corner of the net and seal the win.

Berkhamsted II, meanwhile, picked up a well-deserved win in their clash with Rickmansworth II.

For the majority of the game, Berko’s passing and control was far superior to that of their opponents and they showed confidence on the ball and movement off it as they swept from defence into attack.

That gave them a 2-0 half-time lead, but the second half saw some lapses of concentration in defence and Rickmansworth levelled the scores.

Berko, though, immediately upped their game to hit back and bag the winner. Man of the match was veteran left-back Rocky Savage.
