The Little Hay Ladies have made a flying start to the defence of one of the major trophies that they won last year.
It was their first match in this season’s Mary Forster Bowl – a winter tournament for teams of three ladies which is organised by the National Association of Public Golf Courses.
Their opponents, who had the advantage of playing on their home course, were Farnham Park Ladies who themselves won the competition in 2010.
Not only did Little Hay win the match by the comfortable margin of 109 Stableford points to 90, but Carol Kent sank a hole-in-one on the 139-yard fifth hole for her first ever ace.
The other two members of the victorious team were Elaine Meagher and Linda Reeve who are the reigning Daily Mail Foursomes national champions.
