A battling display from the Dacorum & Tring youngsters

Dacorum & Tring Athletics Club posted a strong set of results at the Hertfordshire County Cross Country Championships on a hilly, muddy course in Cassiobury Park in Watford.

The D&T youngsters were up against strong competition from some of the fastest clubs in the county but put up a good fight.

U15 runner Rhys Rowlands recorded the best result, finishing in 11th position over the 4,500m course.

He was followed home by Joshua van Heinengen in 17th, Vincent Murray in 19th and Matthew Renphrey in 25th.

James Glyn and Joel Amos ran well in the U13 boys’ race, placing 16th and 33rd respectively over 3,000m, while Isabelle Amos and Grace Birdseye placed 18th and 19th in the 4,500m U15 girls’ event.

It was a good effort from the Dacorum & Tring team, with all four of the runners in the younger half of their two-year age groups.
