REDBOURN were beaten by 102 runs by promotion-chasing side Shenley on Saturday.
Fielding first, Redbourn started well with opening bowlers Darren Bassill (2-45) and Jon Fleming taking a wicket apiece to reduce Shenley to 4-2.
However, partnerships of 71 and 57 got Shenley out of trouble, with captain and ex-Zimbabwe batsman Dion Ebrahim scoring an assured 81 before he was undone by his opposite number Dan Roe (2-27).
Four quick wickets saw Shenley reduced to 154-7 but an eighth-wicket partnership of 31 moved the score on to 197 after 50 overs.
In reply, the Redbourn batsman struggled to get to terms with the pace and bounce of the Shenley bowlers as they slumped to 95 all out.
