West Herts League round-up: Cup woe for Kings but Tring march on

Kings Sports were beaten by the odd goal in three as they went down 2-1 at home to Badger FC in the Watford Peace Shield.

Ben Poulten got the goal for Kings but it was not enough to prevent them from going out of the competition.

Elsewhere, Tring Athletic B edged out Hemel Rovers Reserves 1-0 in the West Herts Junior cup thanks to a Matt Barnett effort.

In the league, Premier Division side Tring Athletic A recorded a comfortable 4-2 victory at AC Finchley thanks to goals from Nathan Hoarder, Dan Smethers, Glen Sizer and Tom North.

Division Two outfit Hemel Rovers A managed a 5-1 home win over Croxley Reserves as a super strike from Bradley Walters plus others from Phil Maloney, Nobby Odell and a double by Matt Durrant did the damage.

The highlight of the match was a brilliant penalty save by Rovers keeper Barry Hills when his team were leading by a single goal.

Potten End also tasted victory after a 3-0 success over Global FC in Division Three courtesy of two goals from Diego Dafonti and an excellent solo effort from Dale Jenkins.

The derby clash between hosts Bovingdon and Gadebridge Reserves resulted in a 3-1 win for the visitors.

Jordan Stewart scored the home goal but a brace by Rick Potton and one by Sam Hailey gave Gadebridge the three points.
