Tring Athletic will be holding pre-season trials as they look to bolster their senior and U18 squads ahead of the new season.

The senior team trial will take place on the Astroturf Pitch at RAF Halton, Nuffield Pavilion, at 2pm on Saturday, July 5.

The club is primarily looking to add talented and committed players to its first and reserve team squad, but welcomes players of all ages and abilities to attend the session.

The club runs four senior teams, with its first team in the Premier Division of the South Midlands League, and the Reserves having been recently promoted to the Premier Division of the Suburban League.

Players who attend the trial should bring their own training kit, suitable footwear and a drink.

Any queries and a brief outline of playing experience should be emailed to

The U18 trial, meanwhile, will help to build the newly-formed squad ahead of their debut season in the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League.

The side will also be entering the FA Youth Cup, with all home matches played at The Grass Roots Stadium and training held at RAF Halton.

The U18 team will be managed by Nick Seaton who has had wide experience running youth football, and he will be assisted by former Aylesbury United player Matt Hayward and coach Danny Corcoran.

The U18 trial has been organised for Saturday, June 28, and interested players are asked to email stating their age, clubs played for, honours achieved, email address and telephone number.

Players should meet at the Grass Roots Stadium in Cow Lane at 9.30am for registration and a short introduction to the club – with tea and coffee available for parents – before the session takes place between 10am and midday on the cub’s training pitch.
