Wodson Park 0-2 Kings Langley

Kings Langley battled to a determined 2-0 victory at Wodson Park.

With Ian Felgate added to Kings’ lengthy injury list, a patched up side excelled themselves – dominating a first half that saw Luke Ladyman and Nathan Pooley go close in the first five minutes.

Jimmy Armstrong then saw his finish ruled marginally offside, before the deadlock was finally broken early in the second half.

A long ball forward was chipped over keeper James Sturgeon by Matt Johnson, who was making his first senior appearance for two years.

The striker was through again minutes later, only to fire over. Following that, he seized on a poor back pass and saw his effort blocked by Sturgeon, but Brett Kelly was following up to double Kings’ advantage.

Armstrong and Tom Carter were guilty of glaring misses as Kings took control, but Ross Hampton – determined to earn his second successive clean sheet – pulled off the save of the night in the 90th minute to secure the win.
