Berkhamsted ended their 10-game winless run in the league with a thumping 4-0 victory over Dacorum rivals Leverstock Green.

The teams went into half-time with the scores locked at 0-0, but Berko came out firing after the break to secure the three points in emphatic style.

The sides had looked evenly-matched in the first half, although it was Berko who had more of the chances – the best falling to Frankie Jowle who went clean through on a quick break only to be denied by a good save from Tom Coulton.

The second half opened with Leverstock having more of the ball, but their only effort on goal was a long-range attempt from James Dabbs that went wide on 47 minutes.

And two goals in quick succession from Berko changed the course of the game.

With 59 minutes on the clock, a Josh Chamberlain header was saved by Coulton, but Glenn Thompson followed up to net the rebound.

Before the Green side had a chance to regroup, Berko were attacking again and Chamberlain was brought down inside the box. The referee awarded a penalty and Chamberlain converted the kick himself for a second Comrades goal inside two minutes.

The penalty seemed to knock the stuffing out of Levy, and it was only a matter of time before Berko scored again.

The third goal duly arrived in the 77th minute when Myles Stephenson fired home shortly after coming off the bench, and fellow substitute James Towell wrapped up the win with a fourth late on.
