Cameron sends Corinthians through in the Sunday Senior Cup

Teenager Cameron Gaffney was the hero for Leverstock Green Corinthians as they booked their place in the third round of the BSFL Sunday Senior Cup.

Gaffney, 16, got the only goal of the game as Corinthians beat Apsley Athletic 1-0 to keep their cup hopes alive.

It was not such good news for Hemel Athletic as they were beaten 5-1 after extra-time by Blacksmiths Arms in the Herts FA Sunday Intermediate Cup fourth round.

This week’s only tie in the BSFL intermediate Cup second round saw Focus triumph 3-1 at The Queens Head courtesy of goals from Sean Lane, Luke Reid and Harry Crane.

In league action, Premier Division side Comets Sports Club recorded a 7-1 win at Berko Athletic thanks to goals from Luke Sharpley (3), Alex McCarthy, Joel Williams, Paul Meaney and Stuart Meaney.

Berko Tornadoes and AFC Boars shared a 2-2 draw, while efforts from Chris Di-Pascale and Josh Hutchinson-Kemal secured a 2-1 win for Flaunden against Doves United, and Park Rangers won 2-0 over Gossoms End through Greg Goodchild and Ben Judge.

Division One saw Potten End Sunday earn a 3-1 success at Jam United through Ned Ozkasim (2) and Liam Hunter, while Greenacres II and The Bull Athletic drew 2-2.

Robin Hood were the big winners in Division Two, thumping The Midland 6-1 with goals from Dale Evans (2), Tommy North (2), Dom Banks and Matt Brace.

Palace beat Jocketts 2-0 courtesy of goals from Ben Woods and Jamal Ayoub, Clarkwood had Sam Darker, Pelle Cole and Rob Hopkins to thank for a 3-1 win at Adeyfield, and FC Intervino drew 3-3 with Landrovers.

There were plenty of goals in Division Three, with Ryan Luke, Mark Relf, Spencer Warby and Mark Edney earning a 4-3 win for Adeyfield Reserves over The Old Bellgate, and Steve Brown, Adam Aly, Dean Conroy and James Woodward netting in A&A Flooring’s 4-2 victory at Berko Tornadoes A.

Jack Watts, Paul Joyce, Clint Findley and Gary Roberts were the Echoes scorers in their 4-3 victory over Berko Athletic Reserves, while two goals from Haydn Cassidy and one from Tom Colquhoun secured a 3-2 win for Boxmoor at Hemel Tudors.

Old Bell Athletic had Louis Bulled (2), AJ Adzahoe, Lavvi Zgimbau and Sean Workman to thank for their 5-1 thrashing of Gade, with Sporting Blackbirds and AFC Saints sharing the points in a 1-1 draw.
