Berko fought back from 2-0 down to earn a point at Stotfold on Saturday.

A half-time roasting and the introduction of Lewis Rodrigoe made the difference for Berko, who could have gone on to win the game.

Berko boss Mick Vipond admitted that he was pleased to have come away from the game with a point.

“It always feels like a win when you come back from two goals down” he said.

“We had to poke the players in the eye a bit at half-time again, and they responded.

And Vipond was full of praise for the young guns who have broken into the Berko first team this season. He said: “The pleasing thing is that although we have had injuries, it means that the youngsters are getting a chance and we have been backed up very well by the youth team players.”

Berko went into Saturday’s game on the back of a good point at Aylesbury but found themselves 2-0 down inside 15 minutes as Paul Garrett struck twice for the hosts.

Vipond’s half-time roasting made the second half a different game, however, and Myles Stepehnson fired home at the near post to halve the deficit, before substitute Mitchell Cole hit the equaliser Lewis Pritchard’s flick-on.

Pritchard then struck the crossbar and Josh Chamberlain missed a good chance as the game ended all square.
