BERKHAMSTED have been handed tough draws for the opening rounds of this season’s FA competitions.
The Comrades enter the FA Cup and the FA Youth Cup for the first time since their formation three years ago, while also taking part in the FA Vase once again.
In August, Berko will travel to Barton Rovers to play Crawley Green in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup.
The Comrades did the double over Green last season as they stormed to the MSSML Division One title.
Green, though, managed to finish fourth so a competitive tie is anticipated.
Whoever gets through will be away to either Haringey Borough or AFC Kempston Rovers.
Should they progress through those two rounds, the Comrades would face another away fixture, this time at St Albans City.
Mick Vipond’s side, though, were happier with their draw for the first qualifying round of the FA Vase - a home clash with Stotfold on Saturday, September 10.
A trip to either Hoddesdon Town or Kentish Town awaits the winner of that tie.
If Berko make it through to the first round proper, a clash with Bethnall Green United awaits on Saturday, October 22.
Meanwhile, the Comrades will make their debut in the FA Youth Cup with a difficult trip to Bishop’s Stortford.
Stortford play in the Blue Square North division, three leagues above Berko.
