TRING Athletic bounced back from two defeats on the spin to record a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Holmer Green.
Athletic had gone into the game on the back of losses at the hands of Aylesbury United and AFC Hayes, but responded in gritty fashion.
Danny Gray and Andy Humphreys did the damage for Athletic who now sit sixth in the MSSML Premier Division table following the win.
Next up for Julian Robinson’s side is a home clash with Hanwell Town on Saturday. Hanwell currently occupy 14th position in the league.
Kings Langley, meanwhile, continued their poor start to the MSSML Division One season with a 3-2 defeat at Stony Stratford Town.
Michael Humphreys and Stuart Young put the hosts 2-0 ahead inside 20 minutes, and Town notched a third courtesy of another Young strike.
To their credit, Kings responded and hit back through a Luke Cunningham own goal and a strike from Gary Wallace to set up a grandstand finish.
The visitors pressed for an equaliser, but could not add to their tally and went away empty-handed.
