West Herts League
THERE was a mixed bag of results for the Dacorum sides who took part in the Watford Peace Shield on Saturday.
Tring Athletic A suffered a shock 5-1 defeat at AFC Storm in the first round of the competition, with only a Steve Wood goal to show for their efforts.
There were, however, easy passages through to the second round for SWR Doors and Hemel Rovers.
Doors beat Maple Cross 3-2 with goals from Aaron Lewis, Dan Hartley and Joe Copson, while Rovers saw off Harpenden Rovers 3-0 courtesy of efforts from Tom Porter, Paul Hanafan and Curtis Donaldson.
In the league, meanwhile, Bovingdon remain rooted to the foot of Division One after a 2-0 defeat at Park Street Reserves.
Gadebridge FC suffered the same fate as they were beaten at Rickmansworth St George, dropping to the bottom of Division Two in the process.
Tring Athletic B were also involved in a 2-0 scoreline, but a brace from Tom Haynes made sure the points went Tring’s way to send them above Gadebridge.
Elsewhere, Dale Jenkins grabbed Potten End’s goal in a 1-1 draw with Hunton Bridge, while Hemel Rovers’ third string were hammered 8-1 at Oxhey Wands.
Dan Odell scored the consolation goal for Rovers.
