KINGS Langley maintained their winning run as hot-shot Jimmy Armstrong notched his 50th goal of the season.

Kings were presented with the Division One Team of the Month award for February prior to the match, and started well on another sun-baked pitch.

They had already missed two chances when Craig Lynskey notched the opener on two minutes, but Nat Peacock equalised seven minutes later.

United keeper Dan Green then produced a good double stop from Armstrong and Lynskey, before the latter fired inches over the bar.

But it was the visitors who took the lead as Peacock netted his second goal of the game.

The balance had swung in United’s favour, but Liam James hit an equaliser from a Jack Johnson throw just before the interval.

Once again, half-time words had the desired effect and Kings blitzed the Pavilion End for the first fifteen minutes after the break.

Nathan Pooley’s measured low cross was tapped in by Armstrong for his milestone 50th strike of the campaign, before Kings keeper Ross Hampton claimed an assist when his clearance bounced over Green for Lynskey to take advantage.

Cranfield’s Dave Kane ensured a tight finish as he headed home a long throw-in 15 minutes from the end, but Kings held on to bag the three points.
