BERKHAMSTED recorded a comfortable 3-0 win at home to London Colney on Saturday in front of another big Broadwater crowd.
Danny Power opened the scoring for Berko, before two Matty Wardle goals sealed the win for Mick Vipond’s side who stay four points clear at the top of MSSML Division One.
Both teams were reduced to 10 men, with Power dismissed for handling the ball in the box, but even that could do little to take the gloss off Berko’s solid win.
The hosts opened the scoring after 25 minutes when Power headed home a Mark Welling cross, before Colney found themselves a man short following a second yellow card for Ricky Perks.
Wardle made it 2-0 10 minutes after half-time with a close range effort, before the Berko man netted his second to put the result beyond doubt.
There was still more drama to come as Power saw red, but Eddie Farmer saved Sam Mitchell’s resulting penalty to ensure the Comrades kept their third consecutive clean sheet.
Vipond said: “The work rate of the lads and the clean sheet are really pleasing.
“Also, the support is always growing so I’m delighted.”
