The latest big-name media organisation to latch onto a story this website published two weeks ago about an anti-Lidl petition will be filming in Berkhamsted today.

ITV London News will interview mayor of the town Ian Reay outside of Berkhamsted Civic Centre at 11.30am.

The Daily Mail picked up on our story and published it on Monday, leading to a throng of broadcasters, including three separate BBC organisations, covering the news item.

ITV London News will also interview John Waller, who is 71 today and lives in the town’s Cobb Road, Berkhamsted.

The story became big news after Mr Waller described the people behind the petition as snobs and ‘toffee-nosed twits’

ITV London has asked to interview him in a scenic area of town. He suggested Berkhamsted Castle and says he will hold the Gazette as he speaks to them.

So far 257 people have signed the petition opposing plans for the new Lidl in the Gossoms End area of Berkhamsted

Meanwhile, 574 people have signed a petition backing the opening of the discount food store
