A much-liked charity president who has an award named in her honour is stepping down.
Plucky Betty Lees MBE is retiring from the top slot with Volunteer Centre Dacorum after 28 years.
Centre manager Heather Allen MBE, who is also departing at the end of the year, paid tribute to the stalwart during the group’s annual meeting this month. “Betty joined the Volunteer Bureau in November 1985 and since then she has always been there to give us advice and support,” she said.
