EACH child in a village will be given commemorative cups to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

They will be given out by Potten End Parish Council, which is funding them with £1,000 given to it by Dacorum Borough Council.

The mugs will have the jubilee logo on one side and ‘Nettleden With Potten End Parish Council’ printed on the other.

They will go automatically to every child at Potten End C of E First School in Church Road.

But they are also available to any child under 16 who lives in the village who applies for one by emailing council clerk Katrina Bond at by Saturday, March 31.

Norhchurch Parish Council chief Alan Fantham previously told the Gazette it will not use the £1,000 to fund children’s jubilee cups.

He said: “We were going to suggest it, but found out they will cost £5 each, which we can’t afford with the money.”
