A FUNDRAISING steam fayre will be kicked off with a road run in memory of vintage tractor fan Tom Kingham.
It is a fitting tribute to well-known Mr Kingham, above right, because the Dacorum Steam and Country Fayre raises funds for the hospice that cared for the 72-year-old.
The vintage parade will set off from the event’s base on Greencroft Farm, Potten End, between 6.30pm and 7pm this Friday. It will travel through the village to Bourne End passing the churchyard where Mr Kingham was laid to rest and his family home before returning to the fayre site.
The event, now in its fifth year, has raised a total of £37,000 for the Hospice of St Francis.
Around 150 vintage tractors, 100 classic cars, steam engines and vintage lorries will be at the show running this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
There will be around 50 market stalls, a children’s fun fair and other attractions.
Entry costs £6 for adults, £3 for children and £14 for a family ticket.
