The first ever Herts Cycle Challenge is expected to have raised about £30,000 for Rennie Grove Hospice Care.

The event – dubbed the Tour de Hertfordshire by its organisers – invited participants to cycle either 10 or 50 miles from the Old Albanians Rugby Club in St Albans.

Gazette video producer Natalee Hazelwood was one of about 300 people to take part in the Sunday ride, finishing the longer route in 3.5 hours. The route took riders through Flamstead, Markyate, Tring, Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead.

Rennie Grove is based in Tring and St Albans. Its next event is the Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge. Find out more by clicking here.
