A SHOWCASE of young talent will be staged later this month to raise funds for a youth centre.
Members of the Swan Youth Centre in Berkhamsted are helping to organise the event, Berko Unplugged, to make money for the centre and put on a show for the wider community.
Clare Muir, co-ordinator at the centre, said: “It is their way of contributing to our fundraising efforts, as what the project so desperately lacks is sufficient financial resources to secure the long term stability for our vision of a permanent, thriving youth facility which engages purposefully with the young people of our community.”
The event, showcasing a range of bands, solo acts, and dancing is taking place at Centenary Hall, Kings Road, Berkhamsted on Saturday, November 27, at 7.30pm.
Tickets, costing £6 for those under 18, and £8 for over, are on sale now and can be bought during the centre’s opening hours on Monday and Friday from 3pm to 6pm, and on Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm to 8pm, or by calling 01442 384347.
The Swan Youth Centre is a charity and offers a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment where young people aged from 12 to 18 can meet informally and participate in a variety of social education programmes.
