A teenager was run over by a car then pinned to the floor and kicked in the head during a vicious assault.
The incident happened in Datchet Close, Hemel Hempstead, shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday, July 18, police said today (Wednesday).
A woman driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa is alleged to have driven at the 17-year-old victim, causing him to strike the bonnet and fall to the ground.
The woman is said to have then pinned the victim to the floor whilst a second man who she was in the company of kicked him in the head.
The boy suffered a cut to his face as a result of the incident.
Shortly before this happened, an 18-year-old woman was assaulted by a man in the communal hallway of a block of flats in Bayford Close, in a ‘connected’ incident.
This occured between 5pm and 5.27pm, leaving the victim with bruises to her arm.
A man and a woman, both 21 and from Hemel Hempstead, have been arrested on suspicion of assault (GBH).
They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
PC Sarah-Ann Feeney, investigating, said: “We believe both incidents are connected and that the second assault was a continuation of the first.
“In both cases the victims and alleged offenders are known to each other.
“Whilst arrests have been made I am very keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assaults.
“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they saw these incidents to make contact with police as soon as possible.”
