A man exposed himself to a schoolgirl in an alleyway yesterday afternoon – and it was the second flashing to happen in Hemel Hempstead in less than a week.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and people with information about what happened on Friday to come forward. Details about what happened earlier in the week can be found here – but the two flashings are not thought to be related.

Yesterday’s indecent exposure happened at about 4.40pm in the walkway between Leverstock Green Road and Bedmond Road in Hemel Hempstead.

The girl was approached by a man who then flashed her, and she ran away towards her home.

The man was described as white, of skinny build, in his 20s, with dark swept back, spiky hair. He was reported to be wearing a black or brown jumper.

Det Insp Justine Jenkins said: “We take crimes of this nature very seriously and believe the incident to be isolated. Although the victim was shaken, I am happy to report she was unharmed.

“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident take place to get in contact.

“Do you recognise the man from the description given or have you seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area? Any information you provide – no matter how seemingly insignificant – could help with my enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number D1/14/2623. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
