SANTA raked in thousands of pounds by doing house calls during December.
Icy conditions could not keep the bearded man inside but the severe weather did result in less trips out.
Santa’s original schedule was to take his sleigh out 17 times around Berkhamsted in the run up to Christmas but he was only able to make 11 visits.
However, the trips out still managed to raise £3,000.
Berkhamsted Lions Club took over responsibility for organising Santa’s visits after the local Round Table branch folded earlier this year.
Lions Club president John Beach said: “The system has worked very well in the past, so we have made no changes.
“On several of the evenings that Santa was able to get out, other community groups helped the lions and will get a proportion of the donations received.
“Groups that will benefit are: Air Training Corps, 1st Berkhamsted Scouts, The Children’s Society, Kitcheners Bowls Club, Rainbow Corner, Swan Youth Group and Westfield School.”
