Do you have an interest in fashion and want to develop and use it in a happy and thriving environment?
Then why not get involved in a new group in Tring, which selects and prepares donated items for distribution to charity shops shops, retail events or for sale online.
Enthusiastic and energetic volunteers are needed to assess and sort donations at the Rennie Grove Hospice Care warehouse so they are ready to be delivered to charity’s chain of stores.
This is also an exciting opportunity to support the launch of the charity’s new online shop which will be selling designer brands to the widest possible market, to make sure that the donations raise the best price they can to boost the good cause’s coffers.
Volunteers usually work in a team of two or three and are supported by the trading distribution manager in a lively and friendly environment.
Ideally recruits will have charity shop background but this is not essential.
If you can spare a half day a week you would be made very welcome, but if you can be available for longer periods the team would be delighted.
There are no age or gender restrictions
You’ll need to be organised and methodical, someone who relishes a hands on approach, and an interest in fashion.
A knowledge and interest in designer brands would be very useful, and if you have IT skills to offer that would be a bonus – but it’s not essential as training will be given. Previous experience of work in charity shops would also be an advantage, and you should have a good level of fitness and enjoy working in a team environment.
