PRISONERS and staff are preparing themselves for a six-hour exercise marathon to raise money for Help for Heroes.
On Monday, the anniversary of the start of the Falklands War, five PE instructors and 20 prisoners from the Mount Prison in Bovingdon are being sponsored to take on the endurance exercise event to raise money for the armed forces charity.
The event will feature weights, spin bikes and bench exercises.
Already staff taking part have raised £500 by selling wristbands to friends, family and visitors.
Before Christmas staff at the prison, organised by senior warden Jo Bartlett, sent out more than 95 gift boxes to serving soldiers in Afghanistan.
Some of the staff are now receiving letters of thanks back from soldiers.
