THE OWNER of a pony is being sought by police after it was found wandering through a town during the night.

The animal was reported to police after it was seen walking alone in Berkhamsted High Street at around 1am on November 11.

Police officers attended the scene and recovered the pony, but the owner must come forward and collect it before they lose ownership rights.

Berkhamsted Neighbourhood Sergeant Pete Huffer said: “We are very keen to return the pony to its rightful owner.

“Anyone who comes forward should have the correct paperwork for the animal, including the passport for the horse.”

It is described as brown, around five-to-seven years old with a black tail. To report information, contact police on 084533 00 111 and quote URN 25 of November 26.
