Bovingdon Parish Council has elected its first new chairman for six years.
The council’s former leader Tony Trigg decided not to stand as chairman for a seventh year, but he will remain a committed councillor. He said: “It has been my policy in life never to remain in any one job for more than six years.
“I have now completed that time as chairman and the council’s strategy is clear for the next seven years. I will remain a councillor to provide support and advice to the new chairman.”
Glenn Povey, who was elected to take up the role, said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to serve the community.
“I hope I can bring some of my skills and expertise as ably as Tony did.”
